When we talk about a turbo’s maximum recommended boost levels, we base that on the rpms the turbo needs to turn in order to create said boost. When you increase boost without increasing rpms or drive pressure, the load on the turbocharger is the same for the elevated boost as is was for the original lower boost number. The best part is when you run at lower pressures, like you would in daily driving conditions, the drive pressure/ boost pressure ratios are always lower, which should in turn result in longer turbo life, not less. ~ Bob Riley The 66 model will have better bottom end, quicker spool, and lower EGTs towing than the WW38R. If you have stock injectors, or have larger hybrids with tuning to pull back power- the 66 model will be better. If you have an aftermarket “D66” style turbo with an un-ported compressor cover – the 66 model is a perfect choice. Fits: 1994-2003 Ford 7.3L Powerstroke Diesel D66 Style Turbo Included: Compressor Wheel Notes: This turbo has a standard right hand thread – meaning you turn the compressor wheel to the left to loosen. No need to torque the Wicked Wheel on. Simply snug the Wicked Wheel until it fully seats. It will self-tighten to full torque. The Wicked Wheel is balanced at the factory. To eliminate you having to find the right index again after re-assembly, using a marker, mark a line across the break in the separation joint in the cover in two different spots. When you re-assemble the housing, you simply line up your old lines and you will save yourself a lot of time. Below is a dyno graph taken at Power Hungry Performance on Jason’s truck. This truck has 250/200 injectors, GTP38R, and PHP tuning. Results are with only a wheel change. No tuning has been done to try to take advantage of the new found air volume.
