Vintage Studio Art Pottery Jar Description and Item Information Up for sale is this wonderful, vintage studio pottery jar or lidded bowl. Please excuse the glare in the photos. This hand thrown piece has a figural seal atop its lid. This sculptural seal serves as the handle for the lid. This pot stands approximately 6 1/8 inches tall to the top of the seal’s nose; it has a maximum width of about 6 3/4 inches. Unpacked, it weighs 2 pounds 1.0 ounce. This would be a fine addition to a collection of studio ceramics. Identification The maker of this piece is not known. As shown in Photo 6, there is a grouping of tiny indents beneath; this may or may not be some type of marking. The exact age of this piece is not known, but it is believed to be vintage. Condition The jar looks very good overall, with no cracks or chips. It has light wear. As made, there is a small (1/8 inch by 3/16 inch) indent/flaw to the lower side, which has glaze over part of it. There are some small glaze skips and other variations in glaze application, as made. The unglazed base has some indents/irregularities. Please review the photos, and ask any necessary questions prior to bidding or buying. Terms of Sale 1.
