Available is a very special designer piece- a vintage 1980s Christian Dior shoulder bag! This is a design that has stood the test of time- the navy Dior canvas has gone through some name changes- Trotter, Oblique- yet has retained its status as a coveted luxury item. A shoulder bag silhouette and leather accents render elegance to this versatile piece. I inherited this bag and vouch for its authenticity as it was purchased directly from a Dior boutique. It is an ideal medium sized shoulder bag- width 12 inches, height 9.8 inches, depth 2.8 inches and a strap drop of about 7 inches. It is in overall GOOD/ acceptable used condition BUT is for those who do not mind a fixer-upper. There are issues you should be aware of but they are fixable. If you want an authentic vintage luxury bag at an amazing price, then you will be beyond pleased with this treasure. There are other sellers on eBay selling a similar model- I do encourage you to consider those if you do not want a bag that needs some rehab. Here are the issues with this one:1) some wear on the outside leather side portions such as scratches. BUT the front and back of the bag look very good! The canvas is in good overall condition and has stood the test of time, especially the back.2) there is an apparent “vintage aroma” aka slight musty odor. This happens with vintage but is not very severe. I would not sell something that is truly unpleasant. Scent is subjective and I am sensitive to it but I must make you aware since this is what I detect.3) the inside is leather lined, but looks the most worn out. ThredUp (who I also sell to on occasion) mishandled this bag and the bottom part of the lining is loose/ partially detached from the shell. This can be repaired. The actual base is intact but for some reason the sides of the lining on the base of the bag have been cut. 4) the zipper pull has some tarnishing but the zippers work and are functional. The logo stamp “Christian Dior” Made in France is faded, but there. Those are the cons, but this collectors piece can be refurbished. It still has so much life left and is waiting to be enjoyed in all its unique vintage glory! If you are a reseller or someone sourcing for their own vintage store- once repaired this has the potential to be a profitable piece of inventory for you! Or simply enjoy in your collection!
