PLEASE READ FULL LISTING – Tons of details and specifics, and only TWO S&W Models produced that will use this Hammer Assembly Up for sale is a Fine overall condition Vintage S&W J-Frame Color Case-Hardened Hammer Assembly that originated from a well cared-for Model 49 “Bodyguard” No Dash revolver. The source revolver had the “Dish-Type” Thumbpiece (Not a “Flatlatch” model) and PLEASE SEE also, the information below regarding the Hammer Base type. To confirm, what’s included in this listing is as follows: – J Frame “Bodyguard” Semi-Spurless Hammer Assembly, Fine Overall Condition. The Assembly has the .240″ Semi-Spurless Hammer Spur, Color Case-Hardened finished Steel, with Floating Hammer Nose. All the integrated components of this Assembly function as they should. Handling marks are light – only a minor amount of wear and signs of general use are present on the sides/tip of the Hammer Nose, as well as the sides of the Hammer Body itself that is normal from general use as the Hammer pivots in the Frame. There is no evidence of any pitting or corrosion on this Assembly. **** PLEASE NOTE **** This Hammer can only be installed on Model 38 and 49 revolvers that have a Hammer Spring Rod (Stirrup) with a “CLAW-TYPE” End, as opposed to the very first Model 38 No Dash and Model 49 No Dash revolvers that DID use, for a short time, the Ball-Socket Head Hammer Stirrups that fit into a Socket on the base of the Hammer Body, as opposed to the “Slot-Cut” Base in the body of the Hammer like the one in this Listing. Finally, this Hammer WILL NOT WORK in any newer / current production model J-Frame revolver that has the MIM / Metal Injected Molded Hammer.) Priced per condition, and relatively scarce availability as these parts have been out of production for roughly 50 years. PLEASE READ INFO ON COMPATIBLE MODELS COMPLETELY: – The item(s) listed here are from a S&W “J Frame” revolver and are not compatible with other size frame revolvers. – The parts are Vintage forged/machined steel, and pre-date S&W’s manufacturing switch in the 1990’s to MIM (Metal Injected Molded) parts that are currently used on today’s production model revolvers.
