MAINTENANCE TIPS 1. To protect your investment, we recommend waxing this product after installation and at regular intervals thereafter to add a protective layer and prolong lifespan. Do not use products that may contain abrasives that could damage the finish of the ram 1500 side steps. 2. Aluminum polish may be used for stainless steel to polish small scratches and scuffs on the finish, and a mild soap may be used also to clean the Bars. For gloss black finishes, mild soap only may be used to clean the step. MOUNTING PROCEDURES Attention: Do not fully tighten hardware at the first time of mounting to leave some adjustment room. Step 1 1.Locate and remove factory M6 hex bolts that hold the edge of both side splash guard. 2.Four bolts on driver side and five bolts on the passenger side. Uncover the splash guards. (Gas engine models as shown, hybrid models were similar.) Step 2 Locate rubber plugs under the rocker panel and remove the 2nd 3rd 5th and 8th rubber plugs. Step 3 1.Insert 45mm M8 bolt plates into uncovered round holes under the rocker panel. 2.The flat metal plate inside the hole and leave the stud outside. (The plastic retainer does not include in package.) Step 4 1.Remove factory M10 hex bolt between the 2nd and 3rd mounting holes. 2.Place front mounting bracket onto the rocker panel and secure with two M8 hex nuts and two M8 flat washers. 3.Reinstall the factory M10 hex bolt. ( Passenger side as shown, driver side was similar.) Step 5 1.Remove M10 hex bolt besides the 5th mounting hole. 2.Place center mounting bracket onto the rocker panel and secure with one M8 hex nuts and one M8 flat washers. 3.Reinstall the factory M10 hex bolt. ( Passenger side as shown. Skip the first and last operations on the driver side.) Step 6 1.Remove oval rubber plug and the body frame. 2.Insert 40mm bolt plate into the oval hole. 3.Place rear mounting bracket onto the rocker panel and secure with two M8 hex nuts and two M8 flat washers. Step 7 1.Tighten all hardware with 20ft. Lbs torque. 2.Insert the mounting tabs on splash guard back into factory U-lips. 3.To fit the running board brackets, squeeze or cut the splash guard may require. 4.Reinstall factory M6 hex bolts to secure splash guard. Step 8 1.Remove hex nuts and flat washers from running board. 2.Place the running board onto the brackets and align the studs with the slots in the brackets on the vehicle. 3.Secure the running board with six hex nuts and six flat washers. 4.Adjust running board to level and tighten all hardware. Warning Do not modify or disassemble this product in any way. This product may contain small parts, and we strongly advise you to keep this product away from infants and children, so as to prevent a choking hazard or possible injury.
