Please ask if you need help. **These collars are for walking and training, NOT to be left on your pet for everyday use. **How does a martingale work? A martingale (half check) dog collar is made with two loops, the large loop is placed around the dog’s neck and adjusted to fit. The dog lead is then clipped to the D ring on the 2nd loop. When the dog tries to pull or even pull their head out of the collar, the tension on the dog lead pulls the small loop taut, which makes the larger loop smaller and tighter on the neck for correction and control. When adjusted correctly your dog cannot choke, but the collar will stay snug around your dog’s neck (just behind the ears) until the pressure is released. Dog collars are made with premium nylon webbing, sturdy solid brass hardware and acetyl side release fastener. Heavy duty stitching is in black thread regardless of webbing color.
