What’s Included? This is a 010R cash drawer lock and 1 key. It comes with the latch and locking clip for the backside of the lock. What is shown in the photos is what you’ll receive. This lock has three positions: Turning the key clockwise, or right, from the middle position will manually open the drawer. Hence, the R in the part # 010R. Turning the key counter-clockwise from the middle position will lock the drawer. Leaving the lock in the middle position will allow it to be opened electronically with a drawer kick. What Does It Fit? This is not meant to replace a 010L lock. See our other listing if you need the 010L (left-turn) version of this lock. It will also fit M-S CF-MEDIA model drawers which have a “010” on the face of the lock. This is popular with many MS and Star Micronics cash drawers, which may also be used by POS brands like Radiant Systems, NCR, Aloha, International by M-S, Upserve Breadcrumb, and Panasonic If you’ve broken a key off in the lock there are a few possible ways to remove the damaged lock. Once the drawer is open you can remove the retaining clip on the backside of the lock and it should come out. Installation is the reverse.Use the Drawer Kick Feature of the POS Printer (if applicable) to open the drawerSee if there’s a manual release/open mechanism on the bottom of the drawerRemove the screws on the bottom of the drawer and carefully move the bottom plate enough to get a hand in and remove the clip Installation Notes Take photos of how the existing lock is mounted on both sides of the drawer face so you can recall and replicate the orientation.See our listing photos for an example if you forgot to take photos before removing your old lock. Remove the old lock by using pliers to pull the “C” retainer clip. Insert the key into the replacement lock. This is a three position lock, so rotate the key until it stops in the middle of the three stopping positions. Insert the lock into the mounting hole. The “010R” should be at the top and the key should be oriented vertically. Slide the “C” retainer clip into the groves on the top and bottom of the lock cylinder to hold the lock firmly in place. Add the metal latch onto the mounting nub on the rear of the lock as shown in the orientation photos. Test the lock by holding the latch and rotating the key left and right to make everything aligns and works as expected. Use needle nose pliers to install the small “e-clip” under the lock’s rear nub to hold the rotating latch in place.
