The 1987 Nissan Pulsar NX was Nissan’s first car designed in its San Diego North American design center and they were given full creative license in the design of this car. It is said that if you took all the design elements of the 80’s and put them in one car, it is the Pulsar:pop-up headlights, offset wheels, T-tops, funky brake lights, and of course it is the world’s first and only production modular car. This car is the initial model year and is the SE trim with a CA16DE twin cam engine and a manual transmission. This combination:first year, twin cam engine, and a manual transmission makes this the preferred version of the car for collectors. And it has AC! In addition this car is a rare SPORTBAK model (i.e. a wagon back). 98% of these cars were “notch-back” vehicles. Sometimes the factory shipped a SPORTBAK to the dealer, they put on a notchback (because it was modular) and the SPORTBAK went in the dumpster! Of course, that increases scarcity and their value today. Finally, this car has the Erebuni aero body kit, widely regarded as the “only aero kit that looks good [on the Pulsar]…” This is the only complete Erebuni kit verified to exist that includes the matching front bumper cover. SPORTBAK hatch + EREBUNI aero kit body parts alone are worth $5K+. Restoration: $20k spent on restoring this car over the past three years, including: Full body paint this spring, new brakes, struts, tie rods, axles, complete replacement of HVAC system, new fuel tank, fuel pump and system, new LED headlights, BT radio, battery, carbon fiber wrapped dash and T-tops. 17”x7” Rage R5 wheels with low profile 195-40-17 tires with less than 1000 miles. Includes the original white T-tops in addition to the carbon fiber vinyl wrapped T-tops. Original engine purrs and runs great with the original smooth shifting 5-speed manual transmission. 3 small gaps in new carpet easily patched. Door ajar warning light sometimes stays on. NOTE: RELISTED UNTIL IT FINDS ITS NEW OWNER. PLEASE DO NOT OFFER A TRADE. REASONABLE OFFERS CONSIDERED, BUT NO LOWBALL OFFERS. SELLER IN NO HURRY. Notchback hatch available for an additional price to be negotiated. When considering your best offer note that SPORTBAK alone is worth $1.5-2k. I’ve had offers of $2-3k for the Erebuni. Car itself is a twin-cam manual transmission and I sold a less desirable single cam automatic for $4k readily two years ago. I’d prefer not to split up the combination and have to remove the Erebuni kit in order to get the fair total value.
